Dear HealthSpring Fitness Member:

As California and Solano County experience a troubling upturn in the number of cases of coronavirus, and fitness centers are now being forced back into closure, we are confident in our decision to keep HealthSpring closed indefinitely.

We are carefully monitoring the status of COVID-19 both at the state and local level and plan to reopen when we have permission and are thoroughly confident that HealthSpring can provide a safe environment for all of our members. We hope that when the time is right to safely re-open that our valued members will choose to return to HealthSpring Fitness.

Since we decided to remain closed during the COVID-19 crisis, we have been diligently working on developing a refund process for our members, for the pro-rated membership fee during the month of March as well as for any unused services.

With the goal of providing the best service possible to HealthSpring Fitness members, we are pleased to announce that we have developed a system that gives you the choice of how you want to manage your membership and any refunds. The following options are now available:

How would you like to proceed with your membership?

You have two options:

Option #1: Keep my membership as is.

A freeze on your HealthSpring account means just that - we will freeze your account until the time is safe to re-open. By choosing this option, we will retain the balance of your March membership dues and apply it forward to cover a full month's dues when we reopen.

Option #2: Cancel my membership.

If you choose to cancel your membership, we will refund your balance of dues for the month of March (approximately two weeks). Should you wish to rejoin in the future, you will be considered a "new member" and would be responsible for any registration fees as well as the new member monthly rate. Your membership dues will be refunded via check and mailed to you.

If you have purchased services, how would you like to proceed?

You have two options:

Option #1: Keep my services, as is.

Your prepaid services would remain connected to your membership account and will be available for use (at the current package price) when we re-open and would not be subject to potential rate increases.

Option #2: Cancel my services.

Your prepaid services will be refunded via check and mailed to you. Should you wish to purchase services in the future, you would purchase them at the rate posted at that time. Your prepaid services will be refunded via check and mailed to you.

Should you request a refund for dues or services, we are striving to process all requests and return funds via check request to our loyal members by August 15.

Frequently Asked Questions

Given the likelihood of more infections and more COVID-19 cases as the county and cities reopen businesses, and with the coming flu season in the fall, the expectation is that HealthSpring very likely could remain closed through the end of the year. However, planning will begin to develop a reopening plan that will ensure member safety and satisfaction.

NorthBay HealthSpring Fitness is not a gym. It is a medical fitness center and an extension of the NorthBay Healthcare family. The decision to remain closed was not made lightly.

The COVID-19 crisis continues to pose all the same risks to public health as it did at the onset of the pandemic. While Gov. Gavin Newsom is expected to soon release his guidelines for reopening health clubs and fitness centers, which would be followed by county regulations, we are not convinced that unique facilities like ours could be safely opened any time soon.

There is still no vaccine or cure for this highly contagious virus. Protecting the health and safety of the lives entrusted to our care is more than a priority for us. It is our duty as health care stewards. Until we are thoroughly confident that HealthSpring can provide a safe environment for all of our members, we cannot in good conscious reopen at this time.

While we closed on March 17, many members were billed for the entire month of March. For those members, we will provide refunds for the balance of the month. Members will be refunded for the portion of unused dues and services or gift cards purchased in advance. We are working on a refund process now and will publish the details in the FAQ’s on this website

We plan to reopen when we can do so safely. At this time we are retaining all of our fitness equipment.
